Every data table in Mica can be exported to Excel, CSV, or PDF. This makes it straightforward to continue analysis in a spreadsheet, import data into a third-party tool, or share results with stakeholders.

Finding Export Buttons

The Export button appears on table views throughout Mica, including:

  • Your Dashboard (Active Bookings table)
  • Bookings browse and search views
  • Finance views (Invoices, Production Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Accrued, and more)
  • Reports and Analytics views (By Release, By Production, and other custom reports)

The export controls appear in the same location on each view, so the workflow is consistent regardless of which section you're in.

Choosing Your Export Format

Mica supports three export formats, each suited to different workflows:

Excel (.xlsx)

Best for: Further analysis, calculations, and detailed reporting. Excel's native formatting and formulas make it ideal if you're planning to manipulate or visualize the data in a spreadsheet.

CSV (.csv)

Best for: Importing data into other systems — accounting software, BI tools, data warehouses, or custom applications. CSV is the universal standard for data interchange and works with virtually any platform.

PDF (.pdf)

Best for: Sharing and printing. PDF produces a formatted, read-only document suitable for sharing with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders who don't need to edit the data.

Customising What You Export

Before exporting, you can control which data is included:

Column Chooser

Many tables include a Columns button that lets you select which columns appear in the table — and therefore in your export. Toggle columns on and off to include only the data that matters for your workflow.

Apply Filters

Any filters you apply to a table are reflected in the export. Filter by production, payer, date range, venue group, status, or any other available criteria, then export. You'll get only the rows that match your filter, not the entire dataset. This avoids the need to filter or clean up data after export.

Using Exports in Your Workflow

Many users manage day-to-day operations in Mica and perform deeper analysis or reporting in external tools. Common export workflows include:

  • Exporting invoices to an accounting system on a weekly or monthly basis
  • Importing production data into Google Sheets for collaborative planning
  • Feeding booking reports into a BI tool for custom dashboards
  • Preparing financial summaries for board-level reporting
